Lumineers Near You
Lumineers are very similar to veneers. They are cosmetic shells that are also used to cover discoloured and broken teeth. The main advantage of lumineers is that they are much thinner than traditional veneers, so less preparation is needed to fix it to the front of the tooth. Lumieers also offer the advantage of being less expensive than veneers.
When Should I Use a Veneer
Veneers are much thicker and more opaque than lumineers. For this reason, the veneer is ideal when you are trying to hide stains or severely discoloured teeth. The process of preparing the tooth is also much more intensive to fit a veneer, as the front of the tooth has to be ground down to allow space to fix the thicker veneer. The veneer can last up to 15 years, after which time it must be replaced.
When Should I Use A Lumineer?
If stains or discoloration are not a problem and you simply want to cover a broken tooth, lumineers might be a better option to consider. Lumineers are much thinner, and less work has to be done to attach them to the teeth. Lumineers can last just as long as veneers but are a semi-permanent solution and can be easily removed.
